In reading this week I read 4 chapters of the book 'Wet' on the Reading Eggspress App. I used the read-back function. Something that I learned was that some water birds walk on lily pads and I learned that elephants are the biggest land animal.
I passed all of the comprehension tests. I needed to re-read 4 chapters to pass.
In inquiry with Mrs Palamountain we drew A NZ Wetlands Insect.
Something I well was I coloured my bug in well.
Something I could do better is colour in my outside.
In Inquiry we made a diorama to show What we learned about signing of the Treaty of Waitangi at Clive.
I assessed my diorama as a 4 because I didn't finish.
To improve I need to add a few more facts.
WALT: find and stretch words using our thumbs. We also look for blends, chunks of sounds rhyme and word endings to help us with unknown words.
Next Step: attempt unknown words and read on and think about what would make sense.
In swimming I am in the whales group
I fout smooth cold and splash. I fout worm chilly and oven
Something I did well was arm circles.
I am working on backstroke.
On Wednesday Room 6 went to the Waka. When we hopped on the Waka we paddled. The man said some words and when we needed to turn the boats pushed us and when we went to school we had lunch.
In writing we are learning to write recounts.
Something I did well was using order words.
Something I need to need to work on is finishing my recount with a sentence about how I felt.
